Dressage Royal is a stallion whose name clearly defines his talents. He is a stallion that is descended from the ‘royal combination of Donnerhall and Rubinstein! Dressage Royal wears his black coat like a dancer and impresses his audience with his gentle nature and kind expression. His pedigree is as exceptional as his appearance. He is sired by the great dressage stallion Donnerhall, who won the team gold medal and the individual bronze medal during World Championships in Den Haag in 1994, along with achieving many other notable sporting titles. Donnerhall is one of the most important stallions worldwide, passing his above-average dressage qualities on to his offspring. Dressage Royal’s damsire, the legendary Rubinstein I, also had an exceptional influence on the European dressage breeding and advanced level dressage sport for more than a decade and also left his invaluable genes for the future. The maternal granddam is also a stallion of note – Futuro by Furioso II who revolutionized sport horse breeding permanently. The great-grandsire is also an important figure in both breeding and sport – Magister, who was the undisputed winner of the Trakenher Stallion Licensing in 1965.

Dressage Royal distinguishes himself not only because of his excellent conformation, his unimpeachable character and his fantastic pedigree, but also through his own performances: his ridability, his basic gaits and his show jumping skills are of exquisite quality. This was confirmed by the testing committee and the test rider. His ridability for dressage was judged with 8.21 points, his show jumping qualities with a straight 8.00 during his stallion testing. Dressage Royal is fully trained to the Grand Prix level and has tournament success in Germany as a young horse.

Directly from Hengste Kothe – “Dr. Eike Wiemer, representative of the Agricultural Professional Association, underlined it on the occasion of the final tests in Münster-Handorf: "DRESSAGE ROYAL - an impressive name for an impressive horse!" He is not only a dream of a horse with outstanding basic gaits and exceptional show jumping qualities; the Donnerhall-Rubinstein-son is also first-class choice as far as supplying sperm is concerned. And that's not typical for every stallion! The Alsenhof-youngster fulfils his paternal tasks in a cool and relaxed manner, with a convincing intelligence and a youthful self-confidence - a prime example of an equestrian character everybody is looking for.

Mare owners should take special note of this stallion because of the high trainability and rideable temperament that is found in his genetic heritage with the dressage greats Donnerhall and Rubinstein in such close proximity. These two stallions are consistently found in the Top 5 of the FN Rankings in Germany. Their genetic contribution to the sport of dressage will be felt for generations – these two stallions consistently produce horses that can be ridden by amateur and professional alike at the highest levels in sport.

His outstanding son Damsey wowed spectators at his licensing being crowned winner at the 2004 Danish licensing and earning high praise at the Hanoverian licensing for private stallions in February. At that time, his breeders Dorit & Hermann Kothe sold him to the Celle State Stud. He has since sold on to the current president of the American Hanoverian Society – Canadians Doug & Louise Leatherdale! You can see more information about Damsey at www.leatherdalefarms.com or the stallion station where he is in Germany – http://www.jens-meyer.com/ Both sites have numerous images of Damsey & his offspring. He was a competitor at the 2006 & 2007 Young Horse Dressage Championships and drew praise from Eurodressage author Astrid Appels for his correct training in 2007. Several other sons have been licensed for breeding in Europe – they have received favorable comments on their type, conformation and outstanding disposition. Dorlingcourt (http://www.bramall-dusche.de/hengste_doringcourt.htm ), Uno Don Diego (Dressage Royal x Falkland) who was awarded Premium status, after completing his Licensing with scores of 9, 9, 8, 9, 8, 7, 8, 9, 8 and 9, and is now standing at stud in Denmark.  Dorlingcourt (Dressage Royal x Gluckspliz) has already impressed the German judges at the beginning of his sporting career with numerous triumphs to his credit at the tender age of four.   Son Quoi-Que his also been licensed and followed in the hoofprints of these other promising stallion sons –they’re all beginning excellent sporting careers with their various owners and breeding simultaneously. A Dressage Royal x Rohdiamant x Lysander son is up for licensing this fall (2007) in Vechta - http://olpferde-media.nvsolutions.de/media/DE%20433330699005/JH_Seite_18.jpg

The price highlight of the Vechta Fall Elite Auction (October 2007) was the four year old gelding Desperado (out of a Rouletto/Barsoi xx mare). Desperado was the clear highlight of the auction collection with his rhythm, powerful movement and mesmerizing gaits – resulting in the knockdown price of 210,000 Euros! This lovely gelding was purchased the Pferde_24 group from Baden-Wurtemburg.

At the 107th Elite Auction at Verden, the Dressage Royal filly, Desiree (Dressage Royal x Akzent II), sold for the top price of 10,000 Euros, and was exported to Italy. Dolce (Dressage Royal x Espri) is under the tutelage of Debbie MacDonald and competing very successfully in the United States.

Here in the States at Watermark Farm, daughter Daylily WF out of Achtung Again WF (by Again and Again x Sir George Gaylord xx) was a First Premium Premier with an overall score of 8.1 with favorable comments on being an improvement over her dam and praise for her movement, gaits and overall appearance. Don William WF out of Savannah WF (by South American Way xx x Abundance) had reached an awkward stage in his development at 5 ½ months, so he did not impress the judges overly much. That being said, he received praise for his temperament, gaits and conformation while being granted a First Premium with a score of 7.4. We have three mares confirmed in foal for 2008 with Dressage Royal offspring – Achtung Again WF, Abracadabra WF & Savannah WF. Several outside mares are also confirmed in foal, so we look forward to seeing what 2008 holds for everyone!

Dressage Royal’s damline has produced other successful sport horses - Firmament by Futuro (stallion in Belgium); winner of Oldenburg stallion licensing, Take me by Titus (total lifetime winnings DM 8.370,00), advanced level dressage horse, Bille Bong by Blue Grenadier xx (medium dressage level, total winnings DM 4.908,00); Framero by Freiherr (medium show jumping level, total winnings DM 7.290,00).

6. Oktober 2007 - 210.000 Euro-Preisspitze Desperado
