Showtime WF

Showtime WF (South American Way x Able Spirit WF by Abundance)

2001 Chestnut Sabino Stallion 16.2 hands

This talented young stallion possesses an incredible canter with rhythm and scope. His trotting mechanics and free shoulder are complimented with his lithesome appearance. ‘Chester’ is a classy young stallion who has inherited both sire and dam’s ability to ‘turn on’ in front of an audience. He shows great aptitude over fences and has an unshakable rhythm on the flat. He is a playful character and enjoys interacting with people. Chester is a horse for the big arena and requires and experienced rider. He has been trained for AI collection and is EVA Negative. We strongly recommend him for the Hunter market – he has the chrome and the movement – Chester is the complete package.

Price Class I SOLD Congratulations to Liz in MD! Good luck in the show ring!

Hi Anne!

Well, it's been 6 months since I bought Showtime (aka,Chester as we affectionately know him about the barn) from you and I thought you'd like to know how he's doing.  He is absolutely wonderful, I just love him.  I am having so much fun with him in my lessons, and he's a fantastic trail horse.  He and I go out just the two of us all the time - he loves the woods.  He's so quiet out there and very level headed.  Does everything, goes through water, out in fields, doesn't completely freak out when we come across something weird.  He's not herd-bound at all, he really independent that way which is such a pleasure.

His Hunter education is really coming along.  He jumps anything with confidence and we're working on all the details, like the lead changes and fine-tuning the jump form, etc.  Kenny has been working with him and he's been doing really well.  Once he gets a new concept it really stays with him and he does not forget it - he's quite smart.  We've taken his training slowly, giving him time to get physically and mentally up to the task.  I did lots of fitness stuff, like hill work and long walks.  He has never felt better - his hind end is really strong, his endurance is now up to speed, and his right and left sides are getting more and more even every day.

We've been to three shows to date and he just gets better and better.  His very first show out he was reserve champion in the hopeful hunter 2'6" division (at an "A" rated show, I might add).  I was so proud of him!  His most recent show you could really see he was getting the routine down and was settling in quite well, getting used to all the other horses (and ponies!) and activity and such.  He realized they all were not interested in playing with him and gave up trying to get their attention.  He has no problem just hanging out on the trailer by himself either, completely content to just chill out and eat his hay - such a pleasure I might add.  He always gets high ribbons in the hack, as you would expect, winning a blue ribbon in his last show in a group of 14.

Physically he had really matured and filled out a lot.  He just looks great, he is such a head turner.  Here is a picture I took about a month or two ago - sorry he has his scrim on - it was a gift and I was sending the picture to the person who gave it to me.  I will send you a newer picture with him not so covered up when I get a good one.

That's about it!  I am completely enjoying him and we're having a blast.  He's such a funny character - definitely not short on personality.  The other day in the indoor ring he discovered himself in the mirror and kept checking himself out each time we went by.  It was like he could not keep his eyes off himself.  Too funny....

Thanks so much, and will try and send a good picture soon.   -LS

Ruben WF

2004 Dark Bay colt

Sabrina WF (South American Way xx x Able Spirit WF) x Rosentau (Rubinstein x Noble Roi xx)

Leggy colt with the extra class of a future show superstar! He has inherited the ‘extra’ sparkle that is part of his dam’s parentage…they are unmistakable and impossible to miss! He is a friendly colt with a sweet nature and strong desire to please. Roo should mature to 16.3 hands and is a First Premium.

Price Class F SOLD!  Congratulations to J & H! We’re so proud of you both! Roo has truly found HIS person!

…I spoke with my trainer last night and she hopes I never come home…she adores him[Ruben]! She’s working him daily while I am gone...She took him for a walk around the farm yesterday...first he has been "out" in the wilds...and she said nothing rattled him...she expected a little bit, he is 3 afterall...but he was a steady eddie…which just impressed her all the more! She opened the gate from his back - that took 3 tries, now he does it all the time...he is so smart!

Due to both of our schedules, i have been working him by myself later in the afternoons...(I do make sure either John or his wife Holly are at farm - just in case of a "thud") no other horses in arena, or sand arena...he has been fabulous, non pulsed at being alone...I think his attitude originally was due to WHAT am I doing HERE! Which he is way over now...has settled in like a 20 yr old...He has the hots for a cute pony named"Flirt" (very appropriate) and he gets along fine with his pasture pals...of course his appetitte is GOOD! LOL

We are working on basic basics...taking things slow...He is getting the hang of the cross ties...its not that he doesn’t like being constrained...he just wants to look down the aisle and not miss anything that might be going on...at first the black matt on floor was the scariest thing he ever saw..then we introduced the vacuum cleaner...oh boy…now, its nothing..

My trainer wants to come up and see what is for sale…she has a teenaged student that needs a Roo (the girl is into eventing)...and she is so impressed with his start that she wants to meet you all. I’ll be in touch after the inspection to set something up.

More when I get back to the farm…

Lots of hugs,

J & Roo
