Waldaire translates from German to English as “forest air.” He truly represents a breath of fresh air to the horse breeding industry. This striking descendant of Waidmannsdank, Gotthard, Absatz and Darling combines outstanding jumping ability with proven FEI Dressage performance. His great-grandsire Darling was Champion DLG Stallion in 1976, and the legendary Gotthard’s offspring have won over 2,000,000 DM in competition. Waldaire’s lifetime average score is 65.795% to date. He has proven to be a consistent and above average competitor from Training level thru FEI. His average score at Intermediare I (not including Freestyles) is 68.567%.
At his
100 Day Test he received numerous ‘7’s and ‘8’s and in 2003 Waldaire
received an overall ‘8’ from the American Warmblood Registry. Not only did
he achieve ranking in the top 2% of all horse populations, he is graded as
a First
This vibrant chestnut possesses excellent jumping form and international caliber dressage talent. The elasticity and scope of his gaits is correct. He offers breeders an excellent opportunity to add athleticism and talent to their breeding program as well as substantial bone and excellent interior qualities. Waldaire’s foals consistently inherit his outstanding temperament and excellent performance capabilities as well as his lovely gaits. Their correct conformation, good movement and high trainability make them superb candidates for both riding and breeding.
It is our hope that mare owners will appreciate the uniform appearance of his exemplary foals. Also the foals out of full Thoroughbred mares have improvement in bone, substance and suspension in their movement. He is an extremely prepotent sire, clearly stamping his offspring with his calm demeanor, size and markings. In 2006, Watermark Farm was blessed with 6 Waldaire foals on the property. They are quite unusual in a number of ways – their equable tempers, strong toplines, sloping shoulders and elegant movement. While we may be biased, the report from our breeders is equally encouraging! Their foals also have the same calm demeanor and are clearly stamped by Waldaire. With several foals winning the coveted Inspection Site Champion title – Waldaire can be proud of his offspring. Son Wizard WF (x Abracadabra WF by Again and Again) was crowned overall Site Champion with a Premier score of 8.1. The judges praised his textbook conformation, strong topline and excellent movement and declared him a stallion candidate. Wizard will remain at Watermark Farm for the time being – we are entranced with our ‘minature Wally’ and early anticipate his development as both a riding horse and breeding prospect.
The talented Wreinbeau (out of a TB mare) is enjoying a successful dressage career in Florida with his owner Collette. They have qualified for the Region 3 Championships and we wish them the best of luck at the upcoming competition. Wreinbeau and Collette are ranked 39th in the country in the Vintage Cup Training Level Awards. While Bellagio AKA What A Biscuit (out of an Appendix QH) is enjoying great success with owner Jennifer in the Hunter/Jumpers in south Florida. Son Wizard WF placed second in the Colts of 2006 class at the Fair Hill Breed show with a score of over 76% and qualified for the Cosequin East Coast USDF Breeder’s Championship. Wizard and Wakanda also represented Walddaire and their dam in the Produce of Dam (1st place) and Get of Sire (2nd place). In addition to those excellent marks, that same duo placed second in the Breeder’s Group class. Wuendaire (out of a Domingo x Marconi mare) placed second at Dressage At Devon in the hotly contested ISR/OLDna individual breed class in front of judge Lilo Fore with an overall 8.0 for movement. Wizard WF is currently tied for the coveted Top Foal in North America with the AWR! With a great number of foals being inspected this year, we are very proud of this colt. All of the foals presented to the AWR (in 2005 & 2006) received First Premium or Premier gradings.
Dynasty is second from the left with Cindy Ishoy
Waldaire’s dam, Aries is
the only foal out of the record breaking Grand Prix mare,
Daktary (by Darling).
Daktary was owned by Randy Dauphin of Marshall, VA for her entire
career and campaigned by David Wispelaere and
Mary Flood after having been tutored at the Grand Prix level by Olympian
Robert
While Dynasty stood 16.1 hands, Daktary was a very large mare, standing an imposing 17.3 hands and weighing in at over 1700 pounds. Like her grandson, Waldaire, Daktary was a sensible and thoughtful horse, well aware of her size and always looking to please her rider. The similarities are not limited to size and demeanor – Waldaire’s tail is as thick and luxurious as hers was! Daktary held a record breaking score at the BLM Finals for several years and was a winner at Dressage At Devon in the Grand Prix several times. Dynasty and Daktary were the only full siblings from the combination of Darling and Minuett. Daktary had a single foal as a young four year old – Aries by Adios III, as she was a competition horse for the rest of her career. Cindy and Dynasty

While he has thus far achieved 39 National Year End Awards to his credit and scores as high as 81.92%, his career is far from over! The 2005 competition year yielded two Silver Stirrup Awards at the Grand Prix Level in spite of an injury to Ellie’s ankle that shortened the competition season. The partnership that they share allows them to compete in the height of the breeding season with positive results. They have begun to work on a new musical freestyle and the Grand Prix Special. Their recent journey to Ocala, Florida is featured here on DressageDaily.com: http://www.dressagedaily.com/2006/dd_200601/dd_20060117.html
